Hi David, am I right in thinking you are the artist of the bad day in the museum? I think it is a truly fantastic illusion and I wanted to use it for an assignment at University, if this is ok? I am a cognitive psychology student at Bangor university, currently we are studying perception and the effects/ tricks that visual illusions play on our mind. I just wanted to ask how you were able to construct this image? Obviously, I understand you don't want to give your trade secrets away, but I would be terribly grateful If you could point me in the right direction as to how the image is formed. No one would know how the image is created per say it is just so that I can back up the tricks of the illusion with empirical research as to how and why our brain interprets it as a 3d image, even though it is not. If it is easier please email me a response. Thank you for your time Daniella :)

for the last picture, the bottom group is weirder than the top for me. it looks like the house behind the lady's head is in front of her head. of course, i see that in 2d too.

It's not a font you can just download anywhere as far as I know. I constructed the text letter by letter in a graphics package, copying the lettering from Michael Bach's site (see link in post). It was hard for me!

Great Idea - the patterns we get down here depend on gravity driven streaming, so the turbulence would be quite different. Unfortunately the rig is pretty messy to set up and operate.
